The Geo-Spatial Technology & Application Division (GTAD), Aaranyak is taking the first batch of year 2022 for the One month personalized participative online certificate course on Basics of Remote Sensing & GIS using Open Source software. The course is intended for one-to-one training mode with step-by-step practical demonstrations, interactions & doubt clearance. Certificates will be issued to the participants after successful completion of the course. On the occasion of World Wetlands Day, 2022 on 2nd February, Aaranyak hosted an essay competition for young students to encourage them to become familiar with local wetlands, their current status, local issues, and conservation measures as well as sustainable solutions.

Documenting Degrading River of Assam

We are glad to announce the result of the first round of the competition on ‘Documentation of Degraded Rivers of Assam’ which was organised by the WATCH division of Aaranyak. A total of 87 abstracts were received from across the state. Of which, 20 groups have been selected for the documentation. Detail information and guidelines for the documentation will be intimated to the selected groups through email very soon.

Aaranyak has announced the dates for its exciting programme "Winter Camp cum Field Training on Nature Studies and Conservation". This year, the 3 days residential programme will be conducted during 8th to 10th March, 2021 in the Nameri Baligara Camp situated at Potasali, Chariduar, Sonitpur District near Nameri National Park and its fringe areas and forest villages.
Join us and rejuvenate your spirit in the lap of nature while exploring and learning different field activities amidst the spectacular natural view of Nameri National Park which is home to various notable birds, mammals, reptiles, fishes, butterflies etc. It will be a package of learning and fun for the members of Aaranyak. The programme can accommodate 30 participants (including both male and female). Interested members may contact at 8638701236 for registration on or before 25th February,2021. Service is based on first come first served basis. We will follow all respective protocols and safety measures related to Covid 19 during the programme.

The Environment Education and Capacity Building Division of Aaranyak is calling for short films/videos and articles on nature-based survival strategies of people.

Please note that this is not a competition. As such, no cash/in-kind prizes will be provided. The participants will receive certificate of appreciation. The best materials  will be selected and published in our social media outlets.

In dialogue: Nature, Heritage & NE India- an interactive talk series

In dialogue: Nature, Heritage & NE India- an initiative of Aaranyak and Directorate of Museums, Government of Assam. The purpose of this programme is conserving the natural heritage of Northeast India through sensitizing public and inculcating research as well as conservation interest among different stakeholders of this region.

We are organising an interaction from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on 28th January 2020. Noted herpetologists Dr. Saibal Sengupta and Dr. Jayanta Kumar Roy will be the resource persons. Amphibians will be our focus for this programme. The diversity, conservation policy, research potentiality of amphibians of Northeast India shall be talked about at length.

Aaranyak announces its "Winter Camp cum Field Training on Nature Studies and Conservation". We are organizing this programme for our members from 15-17 February 2020 at the Maibong Resort, Burha Mayong, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.

The purpose of organinsing this camp is capacity building and giving exposure to the members of Aaranyak. We encourage our members to participate in the event. Please hurry-up. We have limited seats!
