Media Production and Communications Division
In order to undertake multimedia tool based documentation, production and publication on pertinent issues of biodiversity and the environment in Northeast India, Aaranyak has launched a new Division named as Media Production and Communication Division (MPCD), starting from January 2018 onwards. MPCD will work in tandem with the other Divisions of Aaranyak as well as other Government and Nongovernment organizations for effective use of multimedia tools for mass communication, in order to promote biodiversity conservation and environment protection in the region.
Objectives:
- Public Relations and communications for Aaranyak and its activities
- Research, media production and publications on pertinent issues of biodiversity conservation and environment protection
- Manpower and in-house facility development for media productions
- Establish relevant collaborations with organizations and individuals and work jointly towards the use of multimedia tools for mass communication.
Facilities:
1.Photography and video production
Equipped with high end photograph and video equipment and accessories, including digital SLRs, Drone camera, action and underwater cameras, camera support systems etc.
2.Media Laboratory
Equipped with iMac system, Macbook pro and Lenovo desktop for Designing, digital post processing and video editing (FCP X).
Expertise:
MPCD has photography, video and public relation professionals who are well versed with the use of multimedia tools for communication.In addition to the core team of MPCD comprising of full time staff, this division also enrolls freelance photographers and videographers as affiliates, designing consultants, thus having a workforce of people from various expertise and experience.
Activities and Services:
1. Activity Photography and video documentation
MPCD is involved in photo and video documentation activities of various projects and activities of the organization. This may include covering various events, documenting research and conservation activities in the field and laboratory etc. The same service is also provided to the partner organizations upon request.
2.Designing and development of various publications
Planning, layout designing and printing of different types of publications, such as brochures, newsletters, books etc.
3.Planning and development of promotional media
MPCD undertakes media production work such as promotional videos, documentariesand multimedia based publications.Such services may include pre-production planning and concept development, script writing, production and post production work.
4.Training and capacity building
MPCD
provides training on various aspects of the use of multi-media tools, such as digital photography, videography, digital post-processing and designing etc.The nature and content of such trainings may be custom developed based on the need.
5.MPCD stock image and videos
MPCD maintains stock libraries of images and videos primarily related to nature and wildlife of the Northeastern India, but not necessarily limited to any genre or geographic area of interest.
