Dr. Bibhuti Prasad Lahkar, internationally acclaimed Conservationist and Ecologist who has been working in the field of elephant research and conservation and conservation oriented livelihood in Assam for last two decades  . Currently he is working with Aaranyak as the Programme Secretary and leading two important divisions of Aaranyak i.e Elephant Research and Conservation Division  and Conservation and Livelihood Division as well as the Manas Landscape Administrator of the organization. His research work has covered diverse areas like habitat management, endangered grassland dependent species, ecology of large mammal like elephant and guar, human wildlife conflict- coexistence and invasive species.   Dr. Lahkar won the IUCN World Heritage Hero Award in 2016.
