Habitat Research and Conservation
Habitat loss and degradation impinge on biodiversity, and human well-being. The burgeoning human population, demand for land resources, and developmental activities are further endangering the natural habitats, more so in northeast India. We are working with multi-stakeholders such as the local communities, Government line departments and enforcement agencies to revive and restore natural habitats through land use land cover mapping, habitat enrichment, revival and management of alien invasive plants and reversing habitat degradation. This aids in providing habitat to wildlife and improved ecosystem services to the fringe communities.
